How do I view Pencoed House Estate?
We would be delighted to offer a viewing and show you around the Estate (7 days a week subject to availability). Please make an appointment, via our contact details on our website, or the Estate office on 02921 678090 and we will be happy to confirm a mutually convenient time.
Can I provisionally reserve a date for my wedding?
We do not reserve dates, but once you are ready to book, we ask for a £1,000 non refundable/non transferable booking fee, which is payable by cheque, or bank transfer to secure your booking, with the balance due no later than 6 months prior to your event.
Is there accommodation on the Estate?
Yes, we have a self catering cottage which can sleep up to 8 guests, a Bridal Suite, we also have 4 Barn Apartments and 4 Stable rooms available which can sleep up to 2 guests. What's more we also have a luxury Pod nestled in the woods. Please ask for more details or refer to the tariff which can be found on-line.
Do you provide breakfast?
Our chef will be delighted to offer you a full cooked farmhouse breakfast, continental, freshly squeezed orange juice with unlimited quantities can be available included in the room tariff subject to a minimum of 10 guests staying on site.
Is there parking at Pencoed House?
We have 25 spaces in the Orchard Car Park including 2 disabled spaces, we have 20 parking spaces in our overflow Paddock Car Park for staff and suppliers. We can accommodate coaches up to 73 guests ( even including London Vintage Buses) and small mini buses.
Are vehicles allowed to be left overnight?
Strictly no vehicles are allowed to be left on the Estate overnight, other than guests who are staying in our onsite accommodation.
Do you recommend a local taxi firm?
Yes, we use a Cardiff based company which are Capital Cabs, and they can be contacted on 02920 777 777.
What time do you have access to the cottages?
The accommodation is available from 2pm with vacation strictly at 10am the following morning.
What time do we have access to the Venue?
The venue is opened at 8am and all decorations, cards and presents need to be removed from the Hall by midnight. The Pencoed House team will safely put away and store your decorations.
What are the minimum and maximum numbers for the Old Hall?
For a Monday to Thursday, minimum numbers are 60 and for a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday the minimum requirement is 80, or surcharges may apply. Maximum numbers during the day are 120 with a capacity of 200 for the evening.
Do you allow outside caterers?
We can only allow the caterers which are recommended to you on our website, and this is without exception. We have Cresta, Pickled Pumpkin and Spiros, all of which have a link on the home page.
Can we do our own evening buffet and supply our own cheese tower for evening guests?
Due to hygiene standards and regulations, food can only be provided by the caterer, which you have selected for your wedding breakfast / event.
Who do we purchase the wines and drinks packages from?
Pencoed House has a fully licensed Woodland Bar with many fine wines / champagnes / spirits / lagers / beers and real ales, which can be purchased by the glass or by the bottle and tailor made to suit each event and client from cocktails to Perrier Jouet champagne.
Are we allowed to supply alcoholic favours or gifts?
Unfortunately not, but these can be purchased from the Woodland Bar at Pencoed House.
Are we able to supply our own sweet cart or table?
Here at Pencoed House, we have our own sweet table / cart which you can hire inclusive of the sweets.
What furniture or chair covers are included?
All black banqueting chairs, round tables (5ft and 6ft) and long trestle tables for top are included in the Venue charge. Chivari chairs and chair covers / sash are hired through ourselves at an additional cost.
Do you allow Bands/DJs/Choirs?
Yes, depending on size. We have many bands that we can recommend, please check with Pencoed House before booking a Band as they need to meet the criteria, ie public liability insurance etc. We have our in house DJ which you can liaise with to put together your play list and choirs are welcome at Pencoed House providing they are transported into the venue, in order to save on perhaps an extra 30 car spaces being taken when they should be for use of your guests. As already mentioned, please check with us before booking any of these additional options.
How many window sills are there in the Old Hall and what are the dimensions?
There are 6 window sills in the Old Hall which can be decorated with tea lights (provided they are in holders) and flowers. Dimensions are as follows for rough guidance: Window 1 – 2770mm x 230mm Window 2 – 1130mm x 410mm Window 3 – 1040mm x 390mm Window 4 – 1140mm x 450mm Window 5 – 1020mm x 260mm Window 6 – 2750mm x 320mm Should your florist need to make a visit , then please make an appointment.
Can we bring our photographer along beforehand to have a look around?
Yes, that is fine, subject to a mutually convenient appointment being made.
What are the closing times at Pencoed House?
All live and recorded music finishes in the Old Hall at 11.30pm without exception ( New Years Eve not included). Last orders in the Woodland Bar at 11.45pm, with the Venue closing at 12pm midnight. Carriages at midnight. Extension of licence can be arranged by prior agreement with the music finishing at 12.30 and The Bar closing at 1am but this is subject to availability and a charge will apply.
